Thousands Will Join Actions on Tuesday to Stop the Dakota Access Pipeline

More than 100 actions planned at President Obama’s Army Corps of Engineers offices and other locations

WHAT: A national day of action at President Obama’s Army Corps of Engineers offices to call for permanent rejection of the Dakota Access Pipeline under the threat of a Trump presidency. This call to action from Indigenous leaders in Standing Rock is in response to increased violent repression from militarized police as the pipeline company continues construction on sacred land despite a voluntary hold by the Army Corps.

WHO: The Indigenous Environmental Network and Honor the Earth, joined by thousands of people standing in solidarity with Indigenous peoples at Standing Rock, and with support from other climate and social justice groups across the country, including 350.org, Native Organizers Alliance, National Nurses United, Hip Hop Caucus, CREDO, BOLD Alliance, Greenpeace USA, Beyond Extreme Energy, Rainforest Action Network, Stand.earth, Oil Change International, Our Revolution, Center for Popular Democracy, Powershift Network, Earthworks, Food and Water Watch, Justice and Witness Ministries, United Church of Christ, Center for Biological Diversity, Daily Kos, Natural Resources Defense Council, Sierra Club, Iraq Veterans against the War, Ruckus Society, Friends of the Earth, and many more.

WHERE: Washington, DC, New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and dozens of other cities across the country and worldwide. An updated list of actions and partner organizations can be found here.

WHEN: Tuesday, November 15th, 2016

WHY: This mass mobilization will show President Obama that it’s more important than ever for him to reject the Dakota Access Pipeline while he’s in office. These actions will also be a powerful moment for people across movements to unite in solidarity with Indigenous peoples in Standing Rock and to strengthen the resistance movement to fight fossil fuels and white supremacy under a Trump administration.
